Russian Scopes From the Original Military Factory
The following Russian manufactured scopes are often encountered on the open market, and are of high quality. We hope to provide an overview of information on this page, to help introduce any SVD/AK end user to these options. There is a lot of confusion on the subject, due in part to advertising text which is primarily intended to convince you the available product is usable for any application. PSO-1 Types:
PO 4X24-1 w/illuminated reticle, shown w/Saiga type clamp
This is a slightly modified version of the original PSO-1 4x24mm issued with the SVD sniper rifle. It features a lighted cross-hair reticle, weatherized electrical assembly, AA size battery adapter, rubber eyeshield, and extremely user friendly target type adjusting turrets. Elevation adjustments are marked off in 100's of meters. The scope is issued with a side mounting bracket/clamp assembly for use on either a standard SVD side plate, or the "Saiga" type clamp for fit on the universal plate of the AK/Saiga rifle. The "Saiga" clamp will fit all forms of AK side plates, but provides reduced head room/eye relief on most applications. This application works best on Saiga rifles with the original, longer type stocks. Optical glass is fully coated and crystal clear. Comes with a vinyl carrying case with lens filter, tool, cleaning cloth, and manual. Finished in dark grey military hammer paint.
PO 6X36-1 w/illuminated reticle, shown w/standard SVD type clamp
This model is built on the PSO-1 frame, but is offered in a 6x power and larger 36mm objective lens for more light gathering ability. It features crystal clear coated optics, and has a rangefinding/bullet drop compensating lighted reticle. US AA size battery adapter comes standard, as does the side mounting bracket/clamp assembly for an SVD-type mounting plate. "Saiga" style clamp is available and raises the scope so it will not interfere with the rear sight base of the AK rifle. Package includes the vinyl carrying case, tool, filter lens, cleaning cloth and manual. Finished in standard military dark grey hammer paint.

Russian LYNX Series w/Standard Ring Mounts:
Lynx 4X24 w/rangefinding reticle, with 7.62x39mm calibrated rangefinding reticle
This scope/bracket set is often referred to as the PSO-4, and is designed for 7.62x39mm applications that use the AK style side mounting universal optics plate. The bracket assembly mounts the scope directly over the mounting plate, and the correct eye relief for standard stock AK is retained. The mounting clamp is fully adjustable to provide a secure fit to any rifle. Finish is a matte black that matches European AK finishes. Rubber eye piece shields shooter from bright sunlight. Adjusting turrets are precise detent type. This scope assembly will mount centered above the receiver cover of your rifle, and is comfortable for left handed shooters. The reticle has full rangefinding capability, calibrated specifically for the 7.62x39mm, out to 700 meters. This sight will fit to all versions of European standard side mounted scope plates.

Lynx-6 7X29 w/rangefinding reticle
This is the 7x power version of the Lynx, and has a larger 29mm objective for more light gathering ability. This scope embodies the same features of the 4x power Lynx, but has rangefinding reticle out to 1,100 meters to take advantage of the higher magnification power. This sight will fit all versions of the standard European AK side mounted scope plates.
